This is my husband, Marty, as we’re weighing anchor in Pendor Harbour BC. We were on a month long trip to Desolation Sound and about a week into our trip the windlass motor burned up. The photo is skipper Veron Goodfellow aboard Endless Love 2, taken on Dec.9, 2011, on a passage from Canary Islands to Grenada. The photo shows a broken boom lashed to the deck, garabage which we stored until landfall. The sky is starting to clear after a rain squall and the skippers hair seems to flow with the wind. One of the joys of being on the early morning watch is having views such as this. We were approaching Bermuda, having run down from Greenport, Long Island as part of a cruise rally. We had raised Gibbs Hill Light in the pre-dawn and were headed for the turn at North East Breakers. I had just come on watch. I tried to keep a camera handy for near-perfect sun-sets, sunrises, pods of dolphins, etc. All got photographed, but this is just one of my favorites from this trip. Douglas Meyer
