The brokerage team at Eastern Yacht Sales, Inc. have listed a highly acclaimed Catalina 355 for sale with an asking price of $229,000.

This Catalina 355 is a 2015 model currently located in Quincy, Massachusetts. The boat is listed as “like-new” and has never been slept on. It has only been daysailed for four months each year. The listing describes the vessel as having “all the best equipment” and being “truly turnkey” without any additional improvements needed.

In the words of Cruising World contributor Tim Murphy, this ship model has an impressive track record of “consideration and principles” for the people who will be sailing and inhabiting it. Cruising World named the Catalina 355 as Domestic Boat of the Year for 2011.

“Where the Catalina truly shines is in the integration, detail by detail, throughout the boat,” writes Murphy in his review of the 2011 model. “… Structurally, the boat is composed of five major parts: hull, deck, structural grid, interior liner, and deck liner. The key here is that all structural loads are taken directly to the structural grid and, ultimately, the hull; the furniture throughout the interior is completely isolated from the dynamic loads delivered by the rig and keel while under way.”

This 2015 model measures at 35 feet, 5 inches in overall length, 12 feet of beam and a max draft of 4 feet, 6 inches. It has a displacement of 14,800 pounds. The ship’s hull is built from fiberglass, and the vessel sports a 29-horsepower Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engine with just 423 engine hours spent.

Gadgets and gear included with this vessel includes an Evolution EV200 autopilot with direct drive, a c95 Widescreen MFD, a mast mounted 18 inch HD 4kw Digital Radome to upgrade chartplotter to radar, Ray 55 VHF at the nav station along with a second unit at the helm and i70 Raymarine instruments on both sides of the helm (for measuring knotmeter, depth sounder, wind speed and direction).

Other noteworthy specs for this Catalina 355 include: a wing/bulb keel, Selden furling mast, mainsail with vertical battens, 135% genoa with sunshield, ultra-leather cushions in the salon, an upgraded four leaf dining table, a Fusion 700 built-in ipod and USB stereo with four speakers and more. Real mattresses are also included in both staterooms.
