Explore Indonesia

Crewed charters aboard modern boats called phinisi are gaining popularity in Southeast Asia.
A phinsi, based on the design of a traditional cargo schooner native to Southeast Asia glides long the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia.

In North American summer, the charter area is the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia. During North American winter, the two-masted schooners travel to the Raja Ampat islands, an archipelago in Indonesia’s West Papua province.

Depending on the size of phinisi, six to 14 guests are accommodated by a crew of 15 to 21 members. The traditional exterior houses a luxurious interior, offering a comfortable platform from which to explore the expanses of eastern Indonesia. Full service aboard can include massage and/or reflexology treatment. Activities include snorkeling, scuba diving and tours of Komodo National Park, home to the giant Komodo dragon.
