App of the Month: NOAA Buoy and Tide Data
Since the immortal words of Captain Ron, “If anything’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen out there,” are typically true, it’s good to know what the real conditions are like along your route. This simple app does exactly what it says – it provides the data from NOAA weather buoys and tide stations—which is handy info to have. It’s also fun to check out the data from far-flung buoys and be glad you’re not there (ie: 18-foot seas and 35 knots of wind in the North Sea? Brrrr…).
