ProSport Gen3 battery charger
If you’re planning to upgrade your boat’s electrical system and battery charger this winter, check out the ProSport Generation 3 by ProMariner. The ProSport Gen 3 includes proper installation feedback with its “System Check OK” indicator confirming that it’s wired correctly and the batteries are ready to accept a charge. The new charger incorporates all-digital microprocessor control and uses the latest in digital pulse-charging technology to extend battery life.
The Gen 3 includes individual battery-bank fault indicators, and in the event of a wiring problem such as reverse polarity, spreading a battery cable over 24 or 36 volts instead of 12, or a battery short, the indicator directs an individual to the exact battery and cable that has an issue, saving time, money and eliminating the guess work when troubleshooting faults.
Another cool feature is the Distributed-On-Demand Charging technology, which takes 100% of the available charging amps and distributes them to any one battery or combination of all batteries, as needed, for more efficient charging. ProSport has indicator lights that provide at-a-glance status of AC power, Charging, Conditioning, Auto Maintain and Reconditioning modes in addition to battery type selected – Flooded/AGM or GEL settings are standard on all models, and settings for High Performance AGM batteries are available on the 20-amp Dual model. The Gen 3 has heavy-duty waterproof construction and offers a fast charge time ranging from 8 to 10 hours (50% state of discharge). They can be used for 12-, 24- and 36-volt systems.
