Sail Cover Saver
Reader Paul Hille writes:
On my 38′ Jeanneau Gin Fizz sloop, my mainsail covers were constantly ripping, where the headboard is sewn to the top of the sail to attach the main halyard. My solution is a simple one: take a 75-cent tennis ball, cut one side open and slip it onto the headboard before you put on the cover. When you put the cover on it holds the ball in place.
Carrie Ann is moored at the Keyport Yacht Club, in Keyport NJ.
