Cruisers Universtiy
Is there a getaway in your future or a desire to simply become a better sailor? Cruisers University will help you on your way with four days of classes, all taught by voyagers who’ve put thousands of miles in their wakes. The program takes place in Annapolis, Maryland, April 25 to 28, and runs in conjunction with the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show.
This year’s presenters include several instructors who should be familiar to Cruising World readers. Osprey’s Flight author Wendy Mitman Clarke and her husband, John Clarke, are teaching two tracks, “Time Tested Gear and Gadgets” and “The Art of Anchoring.” Solo around the Americas sailor Matt Rutherford is also scheduled to speak about “Modifying Your Boat for Offshore Mode,” and tips and info for an Atlantic circuit.
Well known author Beth Leonard is featured in several sessions, as are Pam Wall, Kathy Parsons, Liza Copeland, John Martino, among others. Topics range from the practical to the technical.
Attendees also receive admission to the Spring Sailboat Show, which this year will feature some 80 new and brokerage sailboats, more than 100 exhibitors, and of course, Annapolis in the springtime.
