We all know the destructive properties of salt water. Hence a key selling point for a boat that has only ever been used in fresh water.
That’s the case with this 2003 Dauntless 180, which is for sale at an asking price of $22,100. According to the seller—who works for Harken (note the logo on the outboard engine)—the 135-hp Mercury Optimax has about 600 hours of use on it. The prop is three-blade stainless steel.
For the past four years, the owner says, the boat has been stored indoors with climate control. The lighted stereo speakers on the black Stryker T-top have never been used, nor has the Sony Bluetooth stereo in the dash. The owner also says the plumbed livewell is unused.
Additional electronics include a Garmin GPSMap plotter at the helm, and the boat is advertised as having “many new cushions,” LED lights, and a galvanized EZ Loader Trailer with new tires.
The Dauntless is an updated version of one of Boston Whaler’s earliest models. The classic look is still there, but now there are all kinds of additional features and amenities.
Will the owner deliver the boat to the next owner? Yes, anywhere within 300 miles of Chicago.
