To provide the sailing characteristics it sought in its follow-up boat to the Outbound 44/46, Outbound Yachts turned to racing-design wunderkind Kernan Yacht Design. Within the moderately proportioned and moderate displacement hull that emerged, Outbound has fitted a two- (or optional, three-) cabin arrangement of generously apportioned spaces. A semi-raised saloon is a few steps down from the center cockpit, and in the deep, central areas athwart the cockpit, a safe passageway galley and a workshop flank a large engine and machinery space.
On deck, a hard windshield protects the forward end of the cockpit and a Solent rig permits a choice between canvas options to suit the prevailing winds or whims.
