THE “P” in XP, the latest offering from X-Yachts, the builder of a fleet of outstanding racer/cruisers based in Denmark, is for “performance,” and this purposeful 38-footer should deliver it in spades. Multiple keel and rig configurations are available, including, for the serious racer, an optional deep fin keel and carbon rig. The XP 38 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Grand Soleil 43

Italian America’s Cup designer Claudio Maletto was commissioned to draft the lines of Grand Soleil‘s latest swift performance cruiser, and he’s delivered a handsome vessel that will be extremely quick upwind and down, with a roomy layout below that features an airy owners cabin in the forepeak and twin doubles aft. The Grand Soleil 43 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Dufour 500 GL

Ever since Michel Dufour founded his boatyard in 1964, the company has been delivering comfortable performance cruisers that sail well, provide good value, and offer fine accommodations. Designed by Umberto Felci, this new 50-footer, with a hard chine that carries its beam well aft, fits well with Dufour‘s long legacy. The Dufour 500 Grand Large is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Dufour 36

For sailors seeking a dual-purpose boat that will compete for the silver on the racecourse and provide a solid platform for a rewarding cruise afterward, this fast 36-footer from Felci Yacht Design may be the ticket. The no-nonsense hull, deep T bulb keel, and tall double-spreader rig will make this Dufour a delight to sail. The Dufour 36 Performance is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Dragonfly 32

Options abound in this fun flyer from Denmark’s Quorning Boats. Choose a short rig for heavy-air venues or the tall mast for light-air sailing. Replace the standard 20-horsepower outboard with an inboard two-cyclinder diesel or even an electric engine. Lots of sailors will prefer the usual tiller, but wheel steering is also available. The Dragonfly 32 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Discovery 57

Built in Great Britain to the highest resin-infused standards and to a design by acclaimed naval architect Ron Holland, the latest entry in the Discovery line is a true all-oceans bluewater voyager. The yacht’s centerpiece is the prominent raised deck saloon. A pair of wheels and a solent rig provide smooth sailing on passage. The Discovery 57 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

D-5000

Among the dozens of interesting features that characterize the D-5000 are the laminated, heated glass screen and nifty overhead sliding bimini to protect the driver at the raised helm station. Solid handrails, Quantum sails, a Southern Spars custom rig, six recessed 130-amp solar panels—the list goes on and on. The D-5000 by Redemption Yachts is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Cornish Shrimper 19

Available in either the “Classic” two-berth version or the “Modern” four-berth model, this compact cruiser (which actually measures 22 feet 6 inches LOA) is full of surprises, including a pivoting bowsprit for solo mast stepping; numerous trailer options; and either an outboard gas engine or inboard Yanmar 1GM diesel auxiliary. The Cornish Shrimper 19 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.

Catana 55

By maximizing the waterline length, packing on the sail area, and employing Catana‘s unique “carbon infusion” build technology, with his latest 55-footer, French naval architect Christophe Barreau has successfully addressed even the most demanding cruising sailor’s “need for speed.” Simply set sail and take off. The Catana 55 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase. To see more catamarans from Catana, click [here](http://www.cruisingworld.com/boat-brands/catana

Catana 47

Performance was the aim in building this new cat from the high-tech French builder, and with a radical “carbon infusion” construction process, that goal was realized. With an infused sandwich of foam, aramid fibers, carbon fiber, and other materials, Catana‘s latest 47 is over 3,000 pounds lighter than before. The Catana 47 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase. To see more catamarans from Catana,
