Created by the prolific French naval architecture firm Berret Racoupeau, with an open, inviting interior rendered by Nauta Design, the flagship of Beneteau‘s Sense fleet is this scintillating 55-footer, which looks and feels like a much larger yacht. Like its sister ships, the boat’s liveaboard potential makes a lot of, well, sense. The Beneteau Sense 55 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase
“Innovation” is the key word in describing Beneteau‘s revolutionary new Sense series. It translates into a truly spacious cockpit maximizing topside living space, a centralized floor plan with a grand saloon promoting camaraderie and good times, and contemporary twin cabins ensuring privacy and sound slumber. The Beneteau Sense 46 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.
The topside focal point of Beneteau’s new Oceanis line is the central cockpit arch; it serves as the mainsheet anchor, the dodger and bimini frame, and provides secure handholds. Twin wheels and the award-winning fold-down electric transom are strong features. Several interior options provide style and comfort. The Beneteau Oceanis 48 is part of Cruising World‘s 2013 New Boat Showcase.
They were once seen primarily on steel yachts, but now, on production boats such as Beneteau’s new Oceanis models, it’s all about the hull chine. “Boat Review” from our March 2012 issue.
The Beneteau Oceanis 41 and 45 are both part of Cruising World_’s 2012 Showcase. The Beneteau Oceanis 41 & 45 feature hard, continuous chines in their hulls, permitting greater interior volume and better stability under sail.
Named 2011’s Best Full-Size Cruiser, the Beneteau Sense 50 stood apart with its Dock & Go system and overall layout.
First unveiled at last fall’s U.S. Sailboat Show, the Sense line and its optional break-through steering system became the talk of the dock. Boat review from our August 2011 issue.
